Five more months until Halloween.

Only five more months. Five more months until I’ll be able to wear my new Annoying Orange costume and finally take on the identity I’ve always wanted…. It’s not easy when you’re just a bit green, and somewhat thin-skinned. Until I found out about the new Annoying Orange costume, I was convinced that I’d spend my life hanging around, just another clementine clinging to the citrus tree of life. But then things changed for the better. Suddenly I knew I wouldn’t just be a tortured tangerine for the rest of my days. I could suit up like my favorite fruit hero, Annoying Orange! Now, I’ve tried making my own Annoying Orange costume using bits of orange construction paper, string, and duct tape. Well, let me tell you: EPIC. FAIL. My lack of thumbs coupled with my lack of artistic talent makes me a great candidate for acquiring the new Annoying Orange Halloween costume this year!

The Annoying Orange will be the very first fruity costume released for Halloween 2012

Annoying Orange Adult Costume

There’s a train coming down a long, dark tunnel. It barrels through and then comes to a screeching halt at the brightly lit station. The doors open. I stand off to the side as the people disembark, and then I hurry on, barely glancing at the remaining passengers. An empty seat beckons and I quickly sit down. The train jolts into motion. I hear a familiar whiny “hahahahahahaha” and realize I’m surrounded by fruits, all speaking in tongues with tongues. I cannot make out their words, despite the insistent tones of their annoying little fruit voices, and I strain to understand their message. A few olive-complexioned plantains in football helmets make their way through the subway car while about a pound of spaghetti, looking vaguely like Lady Gaga, wraps herself provocatively around a pole. She adds her sultry voice to the cacophony of crazy.
That’s when I see him. The Annoying Orange ducks around the throngs of speaking edibles, all the while his laugh overpowering the incessant chatter in the train car. He slips closer until, without warning, he screams, “The Annoying Orange will be the very first fruity costume released for Halloween 2012!”

The three costumes that will be available for halloween 2012

Whenever I grab a fruit these days I can hear The Annoying Orange laughing in the background. Thanks to Forum Novelties, a division of Rubie’s Costumes, this Halloween there will be three new character costumes available, all based on the Annoying Orange cartoon. Of course, the star of these will be the Annoying Orange, himself! At the private costume showing I attended, audience members burst out laughing as the Annoying Orange (and friends) paraded around. It seems that there will be separate masks available too. Pictures will be posted as soon as we receive the okay from Forum Novelties. We can’t wait! “Hahaha,” as our orange would say….
